  1. At city firehouses lacking secure, fenced in parking, firefighter are permitted to pull their personal vehicles into the bay ONLY after a specified time in the evening and ONLY if there is available space to do so. This is done to deter thieves who may watch the station at night and break into the vehicles once firefighters are out on a call and that the station is empty. It may have been one of the concessions made by the city to the firefighter’s union when negotiating their contracts.
