2016/04/13 – 25 Market Street – 2-Alarm High Rise Fire

At 18:35, firefighters were dispatched to International Towers at 25 Market Street between Central Square and W. Boardman Street for a reported fire. Engines 7, 6, 2, Ladder 22 (Running Spare Engine 8) and Ladder 24, Squad 33 and Battalions 1 and 2 were dispatched. First arriving companies reporting nothing showing from the 16 story downtown apartment building. At 18:41, a second alarm was requested for 25 Market Street bringing Engines 3, 9, 12 and Fire Control. Unit 917 also responded. Crews found smoke conditions on the 11th floor. The fire was located in apartment 1109 and was caused by an overheated refrigerator. The fire was placed under control at 18:43. Companies began clearing at 18:50. a couple of companies remained on scene for ventilation.
